The chapter "investing in you" discusses some very important aspects of investing in myself for my future career.
Since my high school days I have always had passion in Design. Therefore my plan was to study industrial design
and following my graduation start working as an industrial designer in electronics field in australia and perhaps
in the US. During my study I become an intern in LG Electronics Design Center in Korea which was the headquarters
for all designs for LG electronics products.
I was constantly investing my time and proactive for extra work experiences to develop my self as a designer.
I also became an intern at Samsung Cheil Communications which is a Samsung advertisement company based
in Korea.
As i continued my degree in industrial design I became very interested in the field of Architecture.
My interest in architecture allowed me to re-plan for my future profession as a designer and a architect.
As discussed in the textbook "additional skills don't just improve your income earning potential they also improve
your employability" I decided to study Architecture.
I thought very hard and asked many people about studying again for a second degree. It was very difficult for me
to decide because when i completed the industrial design course, i was able to work at LG Electronics.
However I decided to "invest in me" and i thought that the "time is now".
While I was reading the text I thought to my self that I made the right choice. Even though I'm studying again and
longer than my friends who are already working, I believe that this time - "investing in me" - is very important for me
to develop my skills for my future and reach my goal which is to become a successful designer and an architect.
